You can read every book on PaperC comfortably via the PaperC-Reader. The arrow keys help you to skip ahead and back easily. If you enter a number in-between the arrow keys the Reader will jump to the respective page right away (1). If you click on the little square icon you will arrive at the table of contents (2). You can change the font size with the + and - buttons (3). The search box above the book allows you to find keywords inside the document - type in your keywords, then click >> (4). You are able to read every book on PaperC for at least 10 minutes without any restrictions. After 30 minutes a pop-up window will inform you about your subsiding reading time. This pop-up enables you to purchase the book, to annotate text sections or to save text selections as citations. Until you close the pop-up window your reading time will be stopped automatically. After at least 10 minutes of free, unrestricted reading time another pop up window appears. This pop-up window informs you that you will have to wait for an hour until you can continue reading the respective book. During your wait-time you can read other books for free. The purchase of the whole book or else single book pages allows you to read the whole book without any time limit or other restrictions.

If you want to put together a PDF out of single pages, chapters or a whole e-book, click either on e-book (1), chapter (2) or page-download (3).
The "page-download" button gives you the opportunity to convert the current page, (1) several consecutive pages or the whole e-book into PDF (2) and save it. If you want to convert several consecutive pages into PDF, you move the regulator along the bar until it contains the desired pages (3). You alone decide which pages will commence and conclude your PDF (4-5). Alternatively, you can use the arrows on your keyboard. If you have already annotated or cited text sections, you are able to decide whether they should be included in your PDF or not.
Now a tab opens that contains your downloads (inside your personal settings in "My Library" you find an overview of every PDF you ever downloaded). When your PDF has been successfully converted and processed, you can "download PDF" by clicking the respective link. Warning: You need to deactivate your pop-up blocker. As soon as you click the "PDF download"-button a pop-up- window opens. You can now save and print your PDF. However, there are some publishers that do not enable their books to be downloaded. If that is the case, you will be informed when trying to download the file.
If you'd like to purchase an e-book (or else a page or a chapter) but lack sufficient PaperC credit, you are able to top up while purchasing the e-book. As soon as you click the "e-book download" button a pop up window appears where you can enter your desired page numbers and the amount of credit you'd like to top up. Subsequently you are demanded to enter your invoice address and your desired type of payment. |
