PaperC is a plattform that allows users to read academic and specialized books for free in full text. For a fee of €0.10, users can save and print pages, collect excerpts in an individualized online library, make annotations or comments and mark the texts.
PaperC’s freemium approach has been widely acclaimed. In 2009, PaperC won the AKEP award for innovation in digital publishing and was named German Startup of the year. The founders of PaperC are Felix Hofmann, Martin Fröhlich, and Lukas Rieder. The company is based in Leipzig, Germany.
