How does PaperC work? To see how PaperC works, please visit our Guided Tour.
Who runs the service? Felix Hofmann, Martin Fröhlich and Lukas Rieder founded PaperC in 2008. Find other PaperC staff here.
What does “PaperC” mean? PaperC is short for pay-per-copy.
Can I use PaperC on mobile devices? Yes, you can synchronize your downloaded PDFs to mobile devices via the Textr app. Read more here. |

How much does PaperC cost? You can read all books on PaperC at no cost for a designated time limit– from first to last page. Premium functions can be purchased on a per-page basis (0.10 € for each page), enabling you to save and print text as PDF or to save it in your personal online library on PaperC and to copy text with or without citation. Text annotations are a free service.
Which types of payment do you accept? We accept credit card (Visa or MasterCard), PayPal, moneybookers and payment via SponsorPay. If you want to pay via invoice, please contact support@paperc.de.

I am unable to login to PaperC. The system claims I entered an incorrect combination of e-mail and password. What can I do? Please use our “forgot password” button on the welcome page of PaperC. We will immediately send you instructions on how to reset your password.
During the registration procedure, a message says: “Your e-mail adress already exists”. I am unable to login. What can I do? This means we already sent you an activation email with a link to activate your account at some point in the past, but the account has not been activated by clicking the link. If you cannot find the email anymore, please email support@paperc.de. We will then send you a new activation link via email.
Can I change my login email address? To change your email address, please send an email to support@paperc.de (don't forget to include your desired login). |

How do I delete my account? If you wish to delete your registered account, please go to “My Account” --> “Personal Settings” and “Delete Account”
Is it possible to delete PDFs in “My Account” or “My Library”? No, we are sorry. At the moment, it is not possible to delete this information. We plan to enable this function shortly. However, you can delete annotations, citations and bookmarks if you don't need them any longer. To delete them go to "My comments/annotations" and use the "Delete" button. |

I'd like to publicise my annotations. Is that possible? To publicise your annotation you have to tick the "publicise" box underneath your annotation box. If you don't want to share your annotations with other PaperC users you can simply delete your tick. You are able to change your username in your "personal settings" - your changed username will hence appear beneath your annotation. I am following a number of publishers and categories. Sometimes I get an e-mail that contains the same publication twice. Why is that? Everytime I try to download an e-book or e-book chapter, a tab opens where I have to confirm my order of purchase. What can I do? Inside your "personal settings" you'll find the option "Purchase sites, chapters or e-books with sufficient PaperC credit without inquiry"
I have no download options for the book I bought. Why is that? |

I would like to give PaperC feedback. How can I hand in my comments and ideas? Please go to http://feedback.paperc.de. You can hand in any comments and ideas and vote for your favorite ideas inside the feedback forum using the voting system. The items that are most wanted and needed bubble to the top. We will respond to your feedback and ideas within 24h. What's more the feedback forum informs you about the current state of affairs concerning bugs and new features on the platform.
I'd like to see certain e-books and categories on PaperC that don't as yet exist. Can I hand in my suggestions? If you're missing certain e-books on PaperC you can hand in your suggestions in the feedback forum.

Some of the pages in a book I want to read are not shown. What can I do? Some pages take a bit longer to display. Displaying a page via regular internet connections should take only a few seconds. If the page continues to remain blank, please contact support@paperc.de. You will still be able to download (as pdf) this page.
The PaperC reader skips a page of my book. What can I do? There are various potential reasons for this problem. Either the publisher has deleted the page or a technical error causes skipping.
If you miss a page, please send a message including the book's ISBN and the number of the missing page to support@paperc.de.
After clicking „read“, a message appears: Wir konnten die angeforderte Seite nicht finden. (= We could not find the required homepage) What can I do? This means that the book is offline. Please write a message including the book's ISBN to support@paperc.de
I would like to download various pages/ a complete book. I have purchased the pages, but in the download section in „My Account“, the status remains „in process“. What can I do? Downloading a lot of pages at once can take some time. However, if the download has not been completed after 10 minutes, please contact support@paperc.de. If there is a bug we cannot fix quickly, we will send you the book via email or download link.
I bought pages and now want to start a PDF download.A message informs me that „PDF could not be generated“. What can I do? Please contact support@paperc.de . We will check the book, and you will quickly receive your purchased pages in PDF format. |
