Wasser ist für den Menschen lebensnotwendig und für die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung eines Landes von entscheidender Bedeutung. Schlechtes Management und mangelnde Investitionen haben jedoch in vielen Regionen zu unzureichender Wasserversorgung beigetragen. Viele Länder beteiligen heute private Unternehmen beim Aufbau der Wasserversorgung- und -entsorgung und bei der Weiterentwicklung der Versorgungssysteme. “Private Sector Participation in Water Infrastructure” liefert Richtlinien für die Einbeziehung des privaten Sektors in die Wasserversorgung. Die Studie zeigt auf, wie Aufgaben und Risiken verteilt werden sollen und welche Rahmenbedingungen und vertragliche Vereinbarungen notwendig sind, um die Beteiligung des Privatsektors zu optimieren.
